Elrik is the father of Euphaire in in Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis.
Story[]
During the reformation, the town of Blete, Elrik's home, was burned to the ground by Lodis forces. His wife and child Euphaire survived but during an attack shortly after his wife was killed by bandits.
Wanting to return her to life at any cost, he cast a spell that returned her soul to the world of the living. The soul of his wife ended up possessing the body of his daughter Euphaire. While the soul was returned, his wife's heart was not, and she yearned to drag others down into the death and darkness she felt.
Elrik left her in Blete and retreated to Belleza, where he stayed with his followers.
It was there that Alphonse Loeher found him and pleaded with him to teach Alphonse of the power of bane, so that he might be better prepared to defeat its forces. Elrik told him that he had given up calling the souls of the dead back to the world of the living, stating that it was against the laws of nature.
Alphonse convinced the summoner to join him and together they went to Blete, to save his daughter. The spirit of Elrik's wife was malicious but was defeated and her dark soul's parting words were of love for Elrik.
With the soul of his wife parted from Euphaire, they both joined Alphonse's Battallion.
