Rauny Xenobia, formerly Rauny Vinzalf, is the daughter of General Hikash in Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen. She is introduced as a runaway bride hiding in the Valley of Kastro.
Story[]
History[]
Rauny was part of the illustrious Vinzalf family and the daughter of the distinguished General Hikash. She trained to be a knight from an early age and was the first woman ordained a Paladin of Hyland. Rauny was one of the few that could see behind the facade of the treacherous Rashidi. However, her father remained loyal to the Empire even with the knowledge of his manipulation. In his devotion to the Empire he even gave her hand to the Duke Apros. Rauny fled before they could detain her and send her to Malano to be married.
Hiding in the Valley[]
She ended up hiding in the Valley of Kastro in a Roshfel Temple. In Duke Apros' vanity, he kept the wedding celebrations going and sent the mercenary Ares to track her down. Ares used the malicious rumors of the valley to his advantage in tracking down Rauny. Luckily for her, the rebellion liberated the area and allowed her to join, giving her the opportunity to silence Ares for good.
With the Rebels[]
Rauny confronted her groom in Malano with the help of Tristan and ended her wedding plans permanently. On the Sky Island Shangrila she had to face her former liege Prince Gares to truly understand the monster he had become and defeated him. When the rebels reached her home in the highlands she was forced to battle her father who would not surrender his loyalty to the Empire. His final words were not in damnation of Rauny, but praise for her devotion to justice.
A New Kingdom[]
After the war she married Tristan, uniting the Hyland and Xenobian people under the Kingdom of New Xenobia.

Recruitment[]
Rauny can be found on the Valley of Kastro stage. To recruit:
- Liberate the Roshian Temple southwest of Geral Abad (SNES) / Geralabd (PSX) with the Reputation Meter at least 2/3 full.
- Answer "Yes" to recruit her.
