Quest Corporation, originally known as Bothtec, is an independent video game studio formed in July of 1988. They are responsible for developing the Ogre Battle franchise. Key members of the development team were Yasumi Matsuno (the creator of the Ogre Battle franchise), Hiroshi Minagawa and Akihiko Yoshida. In 1997, these key members left Quest Corporation to join Square Co, Ltd. They maintained the Ogre Battle influence through the games they developed for the PlayStation such as Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story.
In June 2002, Quest Corporation was acquired by Square Co, Ltd. as a subsidiary. This resulted in the former Quest Corporation staff joining Square, and all their assets including the intellectual property of Ogre Battle being under the copyright of Square. During the merger of Enix Corporation and Square, Square dissolved Quest Corporation as a legal entity.
